A little history
As throughout the Seine valley, the route through the area established settlement there very early on. What is attested is the existence of a Gallo-Roman occupation of the site of the Hauts Buissons hill. Near the current cemetery stands a cross whose site may once have been a Gallo-Roman place of worship, of which very few perceptible traces remain. In any case, the few vestiges attest that it was a place of burial. A Cistercian abbey was founded in the 12th century.
