Saint-Brice-Courcelles is a locality that prospered by developing market gardening on the rich alluvial soils of the Vesle valley in the immediate vicinity of the town of Reims. The commune was initially made up of two settlements, with Saint-Brice on the banks of the Vesle and, a little further north, Courcelles.
