Sagy is a French commune situated in the département of Saône-et-Loire, in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
A little history
In 1289, the comte de Savoie Amédée V ceded the seigneurie de Sagy to the duc de Bourgogne Robert II. On 22 March 1641, during the guerre de Comté, the village was set alight by the troops of the capitaine Lacuzon, a Comtois patriot, who committed acts of violence there. At sunrise, the men-at-arms of the comté de Bourgogne appeared on the side of the village of La Varenne, numbering 250 horses and approximately 1,000 to 1,100 foot soldiers, at which place and in all the houses they set fire, and from there threw themselves upon the village of Novillard.
