Rives, the town
Rives covers 10.9 km², lies between 314 and 469 m above sea level and had 6,549 inhabitants in the 2023 census.
Rives, also known locally, though unofficially, as Rives-sur-Fure, is a French commune located in the département of Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Rives is a small town whose territory extends between the Fure valley and the Bièvre plain. The history of the commune is marked by metallurgy, whose earliest activities date back to the 12th century, and by the paper-making industry, which has been present in Rives since the 16th century.
A little history
The earliest traces of occupation of the commune's territory date from the Gaulish period (Second Iron Age) in the 3rd century BC. Excavations carried out in 1873 at the lieu-dit le Plan by Gratien Charvet uncovered Gaulish weapons and iron objects, three swords, two fragments of sword scabbards, three lances, a fibula, an iron ring and a sword belt, a most remarkable example of the art of Gaulish ironwork. These objects were found in the ground, at a depth of 80 cm, in a burial site of Gaulish warriors who had been cremated there with their weapons.

Selling in Rives
Pricing in Rives starts by placing your property inside the €1,745 to €2,696 band rather than on the median alone. The median describes the middle of the market; condition, floor, outdoor space and energy rating decide where in the band you sit.
With 88 sales a year, Rives is regular without being deep. Positioning matters more here than in a dense market, because a buyer who steps back is not immediately replaced.
Briveo values your Rives property from the same DVF file, keeping only sales of comparable properties closest to your address, free of charge and with no obligation, then supports the sale through to the deed.
Buying in Rives
Reading the €1,745 to €2,696 band is a buyer’s main tool in Rives. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
Prices moving up narrow the room for negotiation without closing it, a property that has been on the market a long time is negotiable whatever the trend says.

Over the last twelve published months the median apartment price moved by +17.8 %. A move of that size over a single year often reflects a change in what is being sold as much as a change in value.
No five-year reading is available for Rives. The apartment sales we currently use (2023 à 2025) do not go back far enough to compute one, so the long-term direction cannot be stated here.
Among the towns tracked by BRIVEO in the same department, on the median apartment price, Échirolles sits 16 % below and Les Deux Alpes 146 % above. Those are the gaps a buyer widening their search area actually meets.
