A little history
According to a legend, in the 6th century, the fiancée of the young comte d'Anjou Licinius, a friend of Chilpéric Ier, king of the Franks, died of plague. Devastated, he became a monk and then a bishop. As seigneur de Trélazé and de Renazé, he charitably employed the poor to extract slate and was the first to have the idea of using it to cover rooftops. This discovery led to him being proclaimed, at a later date, the patron saint of slate workers, under the name of saint Lézin d'Angers.
