A little history
Human occupation of the commune's territory is attested from the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the two megalithic monuments still visible today, the dolmen de la Contrie and the allée couverte de la Tardivière. The hilltop site of Charné is the only one to have megaliths. It is situated on a Neolithic route linking the baie d'Avranches. Another route to the south leads to the mouth of the Rance.
