A little history
L'abbé Angot, in his Dictionnaire, states that near the limestone rocks where some human remains were found, mixed with animal bones from the age of the reindeer (17000 - 9000 BC), polished stone and bronze axes were also recorded. He also mentions several localities with ancient names, Niafles, Valleray, Barbé, Guicheuron, Vaubernier, Mézières, le Ronceray, la Flècheray, le Boulay, and so on. The parochial lordship of Louverné, within the tenure of Laval, belonged at least from the 14th century, like that of Saint-Berthevin, to the family of la Chapelle-Rainsouin.
