The commune was created on 1 January 2016 by a prefectural order of 21 September 2015, by the merger of three communes, under the legal framework for communes nouvelles established by law no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of local authorities. The communes of Bellou-sur-Huisne, Dorceau and Rémalard merged without the creation of any communes déléguées and the town of Rémalard is the administrative centre of the nouvelle commune.
