Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo is a French commune situated in the departmental constituency of Haute-Corse and the territory of the collectivité de Corse. It belongs to the former piève de Cursa, of which it was the chief town, in the Fiumorbo.
A little history
Koumsénoi and Cumanesi are the names, Greek and Roman respectively, given to the inhabitants (tribes) of the Fium'Orbu, according to Ptolémée (90-168). The traité de Prunelli, bringing the war of the Fiumorbo to an end, was signed there in 1816 between the général Amédée Willot and the commandant Bernardin Poli. During the 1930s, a forestry company, the FORTEF (Forces et Terres du Fium'orbu), enabled genuine growth in the commune. As a result, it was one of the first communes in Corsica to have electricity.
