Prayssac is a French commune situated in the south-west of the département of Lot, in the Occitanie region. It is also within the Bouriane, a natural region of sandy, hilly terrain covered in forest with chestnut trees as the principal species. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, it is drained by the Lot, the ruisseau de Clédelles, the ruisseau de Font-Cuberte and by two other watercourses.
A little history
The land of Prayssac changed hands in the 13th century when the bishop of Cahors ceded it to Arnaud de Béraldi, seigneur de Cessac at the time, in order to settle his debts.
