A little history
The village is mentioned in the Vies de saint Romain (no. 43) and de saint Oyend (no. 160). The village belonged to the ducs de Savoie. The church was erected as a collegiate church by Guillaume Bolomier, chancellor to the duc de Savoie Amédée VIII. However, the duc de Savoie obtained the right to sell his lands situated in Bugey (and in Poitou) by article 11 of the traité d'Utrecht of 11 April 1713.
