Odos [ɔdɔs] is a French commune situated in the centre of the département of Hautes-Pyrénées, in the Occitanie region. Odos is in the agglomeration of Tarbes and forms part of the aire d'attraction de Tarbes. Its inhabitants are called the Odosséens or Odosséennes.
A little history
Remains of human presence dating back to the 5th century BC have been found. The site is that of a former Gallo-Roman oppidum, a mound of around ten metres in height at the centre of the future village. Traces remain of a tower built from rounded pebbles arranged in a herringbone pattern between brick levelling courses (5th century?). Timber constructions and palisades were replaced, doubtless in the 13th century, by a stone castle with an enclosure, mentioned in several texts.
