A little history
François (Ier) Le Fèvre de Caumartin, † 1649, général des Finances, younger brother of Louis (1552-1623), became seigneur de Mormant, and after him his son Louis († 1657, conseiller au Parlement), and his grandson François (II) (born around 1629-† 1711). At the end of the Napoleonic epic, the bataille de Mormant took place on 17 February 1814, in which the French army defeated the Russian and Bavarian troops. It was one of the last victories of Napoléon during the Campagne de France. A bilingual monument (in French and Russian) was erected behind the église de Mormant.
