A little history
In the Roman era, a strong densification of the occupation of the high plateaux of the Cézallier is observed. During this period, the region became progressively Romanised. From the third century onwards, the existence of a Roman villa is noted at the lieu-dit la Rochette-Félines, as well as two other villas near the hamlet of Ouche and at Grenier-Montgon. Excavations at the la Rochette-Félines site revealed the foundations of a Gallo-Roman establishment and yielded ceramics, as well as objects in glass, bronze and iron.
