A little history
The Entreprises Dejou Féniès & fils & Lartigue were established there in the 20th century, manufacturing wooden objects and above all Dejou toys, which are highly sought after by collectors. In 1921, the commune of Arpajon changed its name to Arpajon-sur-Cère in order to distinguish it from the commune of Arpajon located in the Essonne. It was part of the canton d'Aurillac-Sud until 1973, then of the canton d'Aurillac-III from 1973 to 1982, and of the canton d'Arpajon-sur-Cère since 1982, of which it is the chef-lieu, and then the bureau centralisateur.
