A little history
In the 18th century, Melchior-Esprit de La Baume (born in 1679 and died in Mâcon on 13 January 1740), marquis de Saint-Martin, thirteenth comte de Montrevel and baron de Lugny, was baron de Marboz. He was succeeded by his son, Florent-Alexandre-Melchior de La Baume (1736–1794), fourteenth comte de Montrevel and last seigneur baron de Marboz. The village was served from 1914 to 1936 by the Bourg-en-Bresse – Treffort – Montrevel-en-Bresse – La-Madeleine line of the Tramways de l'Ain, a secondary railway network organised by the département de l'Ain.
