A little history
Magny-en-Vexin is situated on the old Roman road from Paris to Rouen known as the Chaussée Jules-César. During that period, a small Gallo-Roman settlement living from agriculture and livestock farming probably existed there. A possession of the abbaye de Saussay in the 7th century, the village was dominated by the Normans who seized it in 885, until the treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte in 911. During the 11th and 12th centuries, Magny, like the whole of the Vexin, was marked by numerous conflicts.
