A little history
Don Morin, historian of the Gâtinais, was already writing in the 16th century, that Lorrez le Bocage is a small town and pleasure house situated in the woods and that it is a beautiful land, a pleasant dwelling and agreeable to the eye on account of the springs that stream from every direction. Situated in the verdant valley of the Lunain, a tributary of the Loing, it has retained to this day the rustic and picturesque character of former times. In the 12th century, under the reign of Louis VI Le Gros, around 1131, Lorri super Lunan was surrounded by a fortified enclosure comprising 13 towers and fortified gates.
