A little history
Along the northern Ardèche riverbank, Limony is the place where the greatest number of Gallo-Roman remains have been found. Around twenty discoveries have indeed been recorded in various locations, including coins, engraved plaques, house foundations, ancient roads, tombs, remnants of columns and ancient house floors. It seems probable that a settlement existed on the site of the present village from the 1st century BC until around the beginning of Christianity in the 5th century.
