A little history
In 1317, the dauphin Jean II granted to Rollet d'Entremont, whose family had been established at Le Touvet since 1263, all his rights and jurisdictions, save sovereignty, over Le Touvet and its surroundings. Rollet d'Entremont obtained permission to build a château. In the Middle Ages, Le Touvet was the seat of several seigneuries. The survey of 1339 records, at the lieu-dit la Frette, the presence of a maison forte, a possession of the seigneur de Beaumont, « Sequitur aliud domisiliamentum castri de freyta - Primo ipsum castrum situm est... » (Arch. vat. coll.
