A little history
Several Palaeolithic sites have been identified and excavated in the commune, on the plain and in the massif du Rouet. Numerous oppida from the Iron Age are scattered across the Rocher de Roquebrune and the massif du Rouet and bear witness to the presence of Ligurian tribes on the future territory of the commune. The Gallo-Roman period also left its mark on the territory through the many vestiges surveyed or excavated, from the large villa to the small agricultural holding, from the funerary stele to the milestone, all attesting to the Roman presence at the beginning of the first millennium.
