A little history
Le Mesnil-Amelot was for a long time simply a dependency of the seigneury and marquisate of Mauregard. The lord of Mesnil-Amelot held high, low and middle justice over the entire parish, which was also a bailiwick. The church dates from the 16th century. Begun during the reign of Charles VIII de France, it was completed during the reign of François Ier, in 1531. In 1787, the village had within its territory 12 farms and 1,700 arpents of arable land.
