Le Buisson-de-Cadouin is a French commune situated in the département of Dordogne, in the région of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. From 1960 to 2015, the commune was the chief town of a canton. The commune is the result of the merger in 1974 of four communes, Cadouin, Le Buisson-Cussac, Paleyrac and Urval, the last of which became an independent commune again in 1989.
A little history
In 1893, the commune of Cabans took the name of Le Buisson. In 1960, the communes of Cussac and Le Buisson merged under the name of Le Buisson-Cussac. In 1974, the four communes of Cadouin, Le Buisson-Cussac, Paleyrac and Urval joined together under the new name of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin. Urval was re-established in 1989.
