Le Breuil is a French commune situated in the département of Saône-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Le Breuil claims to be one of the homelands of the andouillette, which it celebrates every year at the end of June over the course of a weekend. The commune is situated at the heart of a major coal basin exploited between the 1820s and 1912 by the houillères de Montchanin.
A little history
Source, the first lord whose name is known appears to be Hugues du Breuil in 1087. From the 12th century, the du Breuil family had a house attested on the one hand by a charter of 1264 and on the other by remains. The seigneury changed hands in the 14th century. It then belonged to the De la Garde family, who received it as a fief from the sieur d'Estrabonne, seigneur de Nolay.
