A little history
The remains of a Gallo-Roman villa have been discovered, including baths, an aqueduct and part of a sarcophagus. The commune acquired this land in 2008 and new excavations are expected to be organised under the responsibility of the Direction régionale des Affaires culturelles (DRAC). In November 2025, during preventive excavations carried out by the Inrap near the Dordogne, archaeologists uncovered a Roman pyre burial (of the bustum type) from the 1st century of considerable richness.
