A little history
The name La Rivière-de-Corps is said to derive from the Bataille des champs Catalauniques, which took place not far from the town of Troyes on 21 June 451. This battle pitted Attila le Hun against the Romans and the Franks. The battle was extremely bloody. As a result, the Vienne, a watercourse flowing through Saint-André-les-Vergers, Torvilliers and La Rivière-de-Corps, is said to have burst its banks because there were too many bodies in the water.
