A little history
The first human occupation of the territory appears to date back to 2500 BC, as evidenced by the dolmen de Gaoutabry, discovered in 1876 by the baron Gustave Charles Ferdinand de Bonstetten and situated to the north of the commune. According to excavations carried out on the site, it is thought to date from the end of the Neolithic period. Numerous fragments of pottery and flint tools found on the site attest to human presence, although no traces of habitation have yet been discovered.
