A little history
Formerly, la Farlède was called Solliès-Farlède and was part of the four villages belonging to the seigneurie de Solier, along with Solliès-Pont, Solliès-Toucas and Solliès-Ville. It became a commune in its own right through the efforts of the abbé Rigouard, curé-député du clergé at the assemblée constituante. It was in 1789 that, in order to better mark its independence, it abandoned the name Solliès-Farlède and officially became la Farlède. Its motto Dou Souléu Tou Bén, which means "du soleil tout vient" (everything comes from the sun), recalls its land where crops of all kinds represented, and still represent to a lesser extent today, the origin of its prosperity.
