A little history
Jussac is mentioned in 1344 under the name of Jussacum, this Gallo-Roman name indicates that the first village developed around an estate that must have belonged to a certain Jussius (villa Jussii), long since forgotten. The church has been known since the 9th century, in the time of saint Géraud. The priory, wealthy in its time, was dependent on the abbaye d'Aurillac. Jussac was also a fief, and until the 14th century the ruins of its château could be seen near the present-day chapelle d'Hauterive, it came under the barony of Saint-Christophe.
