Itteville (pronounced [it̪vil]) is a French commune situated 38 kilometres south of Paris in the département of Essonne in the Île-de-France region.
A little history
Originally, around the year 613, a farmstead or "Villa" was built by Itta de Nivelles, wife of Pépin de Landen, mayor of the palace of Clotaire II, hence its name "Ittæ Villa", house of Itte. Having become mayor of the Palace of Dagobert, king of Austrasia, Pépin de Landen and his wife left their land, which was given to saint Gombert, who had become archbishop of Sens. It passed to the bishopric of Paris in 795, then to the canons of Paris until 1594. Under Inchad (810–831), successor of Erchanrade Ier, the eighth council of Paris took place on 6 June 829, at which it was decided that Andrésy would fall under the authority of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
