Herblay-sur-Seine (known as Herblay until November 2018) is a French commune situated in the Val-d'Oise département in the Île-de-France region. Its inhabitants are known as the Herblaysiens or Herblaisiens.
A little history
The village was divided between the lordships of the abbots of Saint-Denis, the chapter of Notre-Dame de Paris, and the Chaumont family. It was also the fief of Jean de Beauvais in the 14th century, and in the 16th century that of the Ailegrin family. The church from the 12th century (Saint-Martin), listed as a monument historique on 6 July 1925, is built on the site of a Merovingian necropolis. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, thanks to the arrival of the railway, the town developed considerably.
