A little history
Before the Roman conquest, la Marche was part of the territory of the Lémovices. Later, it expanded to include the pays de Combrailles. The first known lord of the baronnie de Gouzon is Alard de Goson. In 1279, Guy de Gouzon granted letters of franchise to this place, which were confirmed on 16 November 1337 by Louis de Bourbon, duc du Bourbonnais, comte de Clermont et de la Marche.
