A little history
The seat of a double monastery founded around 620 by sainte Fare (see abbaye de Faremoutiers), the place was then known as floriacum in Latin. Fare was the daughter of Hagueric, who welcomed saint Colomban on his arrival at the court of Théodoric II, and took him to the diocese of Soissons where he met the family of saint Ouen, head of the council of Thibert king of Austrasie. Dispersed at the Revolution, the religious community reformed in 1931. During the French Revolution, the commune bore the name of Mont-l'Égalité.
