Étréchy (pronounced [et̪ʁeʃi]) is a French commune situated forty-two kilometres south-west of Paris in the département of Essonne in the Île-de-France region.
A little history
The commune, established under the French Revolution, absorbed that of Vaucelas between 1790 and 1794. The archives of the Assemblée nationale preserve a record of the cahiers de doléance of the états généraux of 1789 through the original manuscript of the cahier of the commune of Etréchy. During the First World War, the château de Gravelles became the Hôpital auxiliaire de l'association des Dames de France (HAADF) n°508, whilst madame Morin opened a Hôpital auxiliaire pour convalescents militaires (HACM).
