A little history
The earliest traces of occupation date back to the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age, as seven human skeletons and three vases were indeed found at the lieu-dit la Carnala. Before the 16th century, there is no evidence of any habitation whatsoever. The Romans, great enthusiasts of bathing who occupied the region until the 5th century, do not appear to have made significant use of the thermal waters, as no ancient remains have been discovered to this day. It is plausible that structures existed to accommodate local people or the rare visitor, but no source confirming this has come to light to this day.
