A little history
Numerous traces of human occupation have been found on the communal territory, the oldest dating back to 2500 BC. The Ligures, then the Romans, subsequently settled in the region of Cuers, leaving in particular the traces of three Roman camps and an oppidum at the top of the Barre de Cuers. In order to escape the Saracen invasions, which were frequent in the region in the 8th century, the inhabitants of the village took refuge in the surrounding area, thus giving rise to the hamlets of Valcros and Saint-Laurent.
