The Gallo-Roman presence continued for a relatively long period. The recent discovery of a building dating from the last quarter of the 3rd century and the first half of the 4th century thus bears witness to the presence of a dispersed habitat linked to agricultural and craft activity (metal objects, tools and equipment related to metallurgy). Parish (Sessiacus, in potestate Seyssiacenci, ecclesia de Seyssiaco, prior de Sessier, Sessi, Sessye) under the patronage of Saint Denis. The right of presentation and collation to the cure belonged to the abbey of Saint-Claude.
