A little history
The site was in all likelihood known to Neanderthal Man (caves of Culles les Roches), and their successors of the Hallstatt period (traces). Roman occupation is present there (site of Granges). Christianisation began very early, around the 5th century. During the Middle Ages, Buxy came under the authority of the comtes de Chalon (sur Saône).
