Bruz is a French commune in the Bretagne region, situated in the département of Ille-et-Vilaine. Traditionally, the commune is located in Haute-Bretagne in the Pays rennais. The chief town of the canton of the same name, it is one of the 43 communes of Rennes Métropole and one of the 69 of the Pays de Rennes.
A little history
In 3000 BC, hunters settled on the site of the Boël. They erected two Neolithic menhirs there, that of the Cas Rouge, also known as the Pré de la Pierre, standing 3 metres tall and made of red schist, and that of the Pierre-qui-Chôme. Bruz was part of the territory of the Riedones before joining them in becoming part of the Roman Empire after the Gallic Wars in the 1st century BC.
