Bouloire is a French commune, situated in the département of Sarthe in the région of Pays de la Loire. Its population is 2,127 inhabitants. The commune forms part of the historic province of Maine, and is located in the Haut-Maine.
A little history
It is not until the 11th century that the first written documents attest to the existence of Bouloire. The English settled there from 1425 to 1435, during the Hundred Years' War. It is without doubt during this period that the château was rebuilt as an elegant manor house which still exists today. The châtellenies of Bouloire and Maisoncelles were raised to baronies in 1593 by letters patent of King Henri IV.
