Boulazac Isle Manoire is a French commune located in the département of Dordogne, in the région of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It was created on 1 January 2016, under the status of commune nouvelle, by grouping together the three former communes of Atur, Boulazac and Saint-Laurent-sur-Manoire, then absorbed the former commune of Sainte-Marie-de-Chignac on 1 January 2017.
A little history
The creation of the new commune, confirmed by the arrêté of 14 December 2015, took effect on 1 January 2016, bringing about the transformation of the three former communes, Atur, Boulazac and Saint-Laurent-sur-Manoire, into communes déléguées. One of the first resolutions of the new commune was to rename or name 82 roads that were duplicated across the former communes, or had not yet been given a name. An arrêté dated 26 September 2016 specifies that, on 1 January 2017, the commune of Sainte-Marie-de-Chignac would merge with Boulazac-Isle-Manoire. Sainte-Marie-de-Chignac then became a commune déléguée, as did the three former communes previously mentioned.
