Bordes is a French commune, situated in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Its inhabitants are called les Bordais.
A little history
Paul Raymond notes that in 1385, Bordes had thirty hearths. The parish remained under the jurisdiction of the jurats of Pau until 1576. The commune was founded in 1248 after the pontifical period of Jean II. To create a new independent and sovereign monarchical order, the baron Valibusien withdrew to the plains of the Pau region to build a fortified town there.
