Boisset-Saint-Priest, pronounced and locally abbreviated as "Boisset", (Bouèsset or Boussèt-Sent-Prièst in Arpitan), is a French commune situated in the département of Loire, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and forms part of Loire Forez Agglomération.

A little history

In 1167, Guy II de Forez, then in conflict with the Archbishop of Lyon, paid homage to King Louis VII for the castles he held from him at Montbrison and at Montsupt. Boisset-Saint-Priest was previously formed of two parishes (Boisset en Montsupt and Saint-Priest en Rousset). These were united at the Revolution into a single commune which has the distinction of having two churches, two schools, two cemeteries, two war memorials and two polling stations. A single priest administered these two parishes and resided most often at Boisset.
