A little history
The oldest human occupation of Blanzy is attested in the quartier des Rompois-Est, near the Thibourins, where a Neanderthal encampment was discovered in 1960. Another site dating back to the last period of the Ice Ages bears witness to the presence of Homo sapiens near the current usine Michelin. In the Roman period, the site was called Blandiacus, meaning that which belongs to Blandius. The territory was then situated in the pays éduen, whose capital was Bibracte, today the Mont Beuvray.
