Created on 1 January 2018 with the status of a commune nouvelle, it was formed from the merger of four communes, Vertus, Oger, Gionges and Voipreux. The territory of the commune extends over more than 6,500 hectares, to the south of the Côte des Blancs, in the heart of the champagne appellation.
A little history
The commune was created with the status of a commune nouvelle by a prefectoral order of 21 December 2017 and established on 1 January 2018. It is the result of the coming together of the four former communes of Vertus, Oger, Voipreux and Gionges, with a view to the viability of the territory, the maintenance of local public services of quality for residents, bringing together in particular human, material and financial resources. The project to create a commune nouvelle dates from 2016.
