Beauchamp, the town
Beauchamp covers 3 km², lies between 47 and 73 m above sea level and had 9,849 inhabitants in the 2023 census.
Beauchamp is a French commune situated in the Val-d'Oise department, in the Île-de-France region. Its inhabitants are called the Beauchampois.
A little history
The commune was established in 1922 from a hamlet, by splitting off from the communes of Pierrelaye, Montigny-lès-Cormeilles and, for 8/10ths of its territory, Taverny. Before that date, its history is connected to that of Taverny. Beauchamp is situated along the chaussée Jules-César, a Roman road linking Lutèce to Lillebonne. Excavations in 1971 and 1972 near the commune also made it possible to uncover foundations of Gallo-Roman buildings with a well, Roman tiles, vases and pottery, coins, and so on.
