A little history
The land of Arnouville was erected in 1757 into a comté in favour of Jean-Baptiste de Machault d'Arnouville, garde des sceaux and former contrôleur général des finances of Louis XV. The château that this lord had built there was only partly completed. After his disgrace, for more than thirty years he lived forgotten by all, firstly on his land at Arnouville-lès-Gonesse, where in 1750 he had undertaken to have a vast modern château built in a park by the architects Contant d'Ivry and Chevotet.
