A little history
The history of Angerville begins with Suger, prévôt of Toury and abbé of Saint-Denis, who founded the Villae novae, asylums open to fugitives. He was encouraged by Louis VI, who declared free those who settled there. Enclosed within its walls from the time of Henri II de France, the passage on the royal road between Paris and Orléans quickly became prosperous, with 40 inns, coaching inns and hotels. Today it remains a prosperous town on the route nationale 20, with a station on the railway line from Paris to Orléans.
