A little history
In 1834, four large tumular stones, two of which bore no inscription, were discovered on an estate in the commune. On one of them was inscribed "VALERIA FIRMINA VIVA SIBI FECIT" (Valeria Firmina had it made for herself during her lifetime). These stones were surrounded by tegulae, vases and coins dating from the reigns of Augustus and Hadrian. The sites of the lieu-dits of Fontainiers and Bas-Roussillac at Visan also yielded cremation tombs and ancient funerary objects.
