Ville-d'Avray is a French commune, situated in the département of Hauts-de-Seine in the Île-de-France region, to the south-west of Paris and close to Versailles, on the border of the département of Yvelines. A little history
In the 12th century, the demographic expansion affecting Western Europe was constrained by agricultural resources. The cultivable surface area was increased during this period by clearing wooded areas. Contemporaneously with the formation of new villages and hamlets to the west of Paris, such as Marnes-la-Coquette and Vaucresson, the name of lords of Villa Davren begins to appear in records, whose possessions fell under the authority of the king, the bishop of Paris or the lord of Marly. The village took shape on the hill of the Monastère, the site of the former church and the seigneurial house.
